As the Prime Minister of the Shu Han State in Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang is the most famous military and political strategist in Chinese history. People remember him because of his extraordinary wisdom, benevolence, righteousness, loyalty and tragic ending. The Zhuge Liang Memorial Temple and the Hall of Liu Bei are two major cultural relics in the Wuhou Shrine.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is often misunderstood as the constructive work of famous poet Du Fu. Du Fu used to live in Chendu and built a thatched cottage. But it has been ruined in wars and fires. The present one is built by later generations in the honour of Du Fu in 1078. Its traditional style has attracted the eyes of numerous visitors. Du Fu is considered as the "Sage of Chinese Poets". Nowadays, apart from Du Fu Thatched Cottage, many memorial buildings and historic relics in memory of him remain in Chengdu.
